KEMET Electronics
You didn't come here to be ordinary.
Challenge
As part of a larger KEMET brand experience that we developed, KEMET asked us to redefine how engineers (both internal and external) interacted with their company. They often faced internal communication problems that were affecting sales so they needed a platform to help eliminate that. They also had 100 years of knowledge that had no central location to be shared and referenced by other internal engineers and external clients.
Our Solution
We created a physical product to solve KEMET's cross-team design process challenges. Our solution was to create a place of education, awareness, collaboration, and communication for the organization and its partners. The product is a robust, personalized, and organized engineer portal named KEMET Max, that optimizes their design process.

Vision & Design Process Workshop
We conducted a series of workshops with key stakeholders to develop a cohesive vision of features and functionality. During the workshops, we learned they often faced internal communication and process problems that were affecting brand perception.
Persona Development
We conducted workshops, gathered hundreds of stories, and interviewed 20+ engineer and employees to identify 5 main persona types.
To help KEMET get to know the two main personas they needed to consider throughout the design process, we created hand-drawn, animated story reels that captured "A day in the life" of each.
Branding
We ran a successful interactive naming exercise that allowed all key stakeholders to participate in the naming of the new engineer platform. We then helped them build a brand image to support the name and overall KEMET brand.
Digital Platform Strategy
KEMET has a tremendously large eco-system of digital products and platforms. We helped them gain a full picture of this for the first time, see where KEMET Max would best fit in, and how it would connect to the brand.
Visual Prototype
We worked with team members to create guidelines and delivered over 100 wireframes + detailed design comps to depict each user flow and feature.
